Terms for working through GigAfrika
These terms govern access to GigAfrika by freelancers, buyers, organizations and visitors. By creating an account or using a paid service, you agree to these terms and the policies linked from them.
Accounts and truthful participation
Provide accurate information, protect your login and use the role and permissions assigned to you. You may not impersonate another person, fabricate credentials, manipulate reviews, evade restrictions, scrape private data or use GigAfrika for unlawful, deceptive or harmful activity.
Marketplace relationship
Buyers choose whom to hire and freelancers choose which work to accept. GigAfrika supplies marketplace, agreement, payment-record, communication and support tools; it is not the employer of independent professionals and does not guarantee a particular hire, income or business result.
Projects and deliverables
Before work starts, the parties should accept scope, deliverables, dates, price, funded stages, revisions, acceptance criteria, licences, confidentiality and rights. Changes require recorded agreement. Unpaid proposal ideas remain the freelancer's. Deliverable rights transfer only as stated in the accepted project terms and paid stages.
Payments, fees and refunds
Prices, applicable fees, currency and conversion information are shown before confirmation. Provider processing may be pending, successful, uncertain or failed and is reconciled before wallet credit or payout is final. Do not pay off-platform for a GigAfrika project. Refunds, splits and releases follow the accepted project terms and reasoned dispute decisions.
Safety, files and conduct
Do not share passwords, OTPs, recovery codes or unrestricted credentials. Do not upload malware, infringing material or data you lack permission to share. Detected threats are blocked. When scanning is optional, an unscanned file is not represented as certified clean.
Reviews, rankings and promotion
Reviews must reflect genuine completed work. Sponsored placement is labelled and does not guarantee competence, ranking or a positive review. Organic discovery may consider relevance, availability, quality signals and member preferences.
Restrictions, disputes and appeals
GigAfrika may limit content, transactions or account access to protect members or comply with law. Material decisions should include a reason and an available appeal route where appropriate. Project disputes use the recorded scope, messages, payments and delivery evidence.
Service availability and liability
We work to keep GigAfrika reliable but cannot promise uninterrupted access or outcomes controlled by users, networks or external providers. To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to direct loss arising from the affected GigAfrika service and excludes indirect or speculative loss.
Ending use and changes
You may stop using the service subject to open projects, balances and required record retention. We may update these terms prospectively and will publish material changes. Continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply.
