Fair, relevant proposals
GigAfrika proposals should help buyers compare genuine approaches while protecting freelancers from unpaid work and spam.
Who may bid
A freelancer may bid when the account and job eligibility rules are met. A job may require verified applicants, relevant skills, screening answers or a minimum match. Daily limits and proposal credits may be used to reduce mass applications, but paid placement never proves ability.
What a proposal should contain
Address the specific brief, explain a realistic approach, identify assumptions, state price and timing, and disclose material use of subcontractors or AI. Do not copy unrelated text, misrepresent experience, include prohibited contact/payment instructions or promise outcomes you cannot reasonably deliver.
Proposal ownership and samples
Unpaid proposals and original ideas remain the freelancer's. A buyer may evaluate them but may not use the work without a separate agreement. Custom tests that create usable client value should be paid trials with funded scope and rights.
Boosting and visibility
Eligible proposals may use a clearly labelled sponsored boost. Boosting changes placement opportunity, not the relevance score, buyer decision, review outcome or guarantee of being seen. Rotation is used so one sponsor does not permanently occupy every leading position.
Credits, withdrawals and restoration
The interface shows any required credit before submission. Withdrawing a proposal does not automatically erase its history. Credits may be restored where a job is removed or found invalid under the published restoration rules; they are not cash and cannot be transferred outside the account.
Enforcement
Spam, collusion, fake jobs, credential fraud, harassment, review trading and attempts to bypass protected payment may lead to proposal removal, limits or account action. Decisions use recorded reasons and an appeal route where applicable.
